Healthy Hot Cocoa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or any preferred sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the almond milk over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of sea salt to the saucepan.
  3. Whisk the mixture continuously until everything is well combined and the cocoa powder has dissolved completely.
  4. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally, to ensure the flavors meld together.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  6. Remove from heat and pour the hot cocoa into a mug.
  7. Optionally, top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few mini marshmallows.

This recipe is customizable, so feel free to adjust the sweetness or add spices like nutmeg or even a dash of cayenne for a unique twist! Enjoy your delicious and healthier hot cocoa.
