The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics celebrates National Nutrition Month every March. This year, the theme is “Eat Right, Bite by Bite.” The goal of this initiative is to highlight how good nutrition doesn’t have to be restrictive or boring. Instead, a healthy diet is the result of small choices that can have a profound cumulative effect. Every meal or snack is a small step in the right direction! Nutritional health can feel much more attainable when it’s viewed as a series of minor choices that ultimately add up to a wholesome and healthy lifestyle.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends 4 basic steps for implementing the “Eat Right, Bite by Bite” mentality.
- Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day
- Plan your meals every week
- Learn new skills to create delicious meals
- Consider consulting with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics also publishes a free printable poster that can be helpful for you and your family. It outlines simple steps for a healthy lifestyle; click here to download.
